IT Weekend Bulgaria – Training Camp for IT Specialists!
For several years now, a very cool initiative for IT people – IT Weekend Bulgaria – has been running in Bulgaria. Recently, I met with one of the initiators of the event – Peter Sabev. He told me more about IT Weekend. What it is about, how was the idea born, for who it is useful, and what to expect during the next edition? Of course, we also filmed our conversation. What is IT Weekend Bulgaria?
The event brings together a group of IT professionals (Developers, QAs, SysAdmins, etc.) over a weekend to talk about various IT topics. The organizers arrange a weekender somewhere outside Sofia in a cozy hotel which will be both fun and relaxing as well as beneficial professionally. Usually, the groups consist of about 15-25 people. These people share technical knowledge and experience. Moreover, they discuss how to improve their performance, discover new opportunities, and sometimes new business ideas are born.
IT Weekend definitely provides us the opportunity to get the most out of our weekend. Get some rest, and at the same time learn something new. The event has registration requirements in order to be of maximum use to its target audience. For this reason, places are taken quickly!
Looking back at past events and what’s ahead?
The event has been running for several years, with the first edition in 2016 in Lukovit. Following, are 4 locations and more interesting talks and fun weekends in 2017 and 2018 – Ruse, Hisar, Lukovit, Velingrad. And after the summer edition at the end of June this year again in Lukovit, now we have a weekend in Dobrinishte. You can see all of the previous events here.
A little more about the next event. It will be held at the Orbel Hotel, during the weekend of November 22-24, 2019. Speakers and topics include:

- Kamen Yankov – Team Relationships: Soap Opera Style
There will also be time for networking, discussions, walks in nature, and more fun activities.
