Indulge yourself in the atmosphere of WordCamp Sofia 2019!
WordCamp Sofia 2019 took place on November 10th at Sofia Tech Park. The event brought together around 500 attendees related to WordPress. It was the 10th WordCamp held in Sofia. And we definitely enjoyed an awesome one. The visitors had a good time, the talks were great and the mood of everyone uplifting. To recreate the atmosphere, we filmed a video report from the Camp. You can watch it below.
How did WordCamp Sofia 2019 go?
Early in the morning on Sunday, we started the registration. It was until 9:00 am when the hall was already 80% full. Shortly afterward, the lectures began. Firstly, Svetlana Tsoneva from Pixel House immersed us in the world of web design, revealing the trends for 2020. Then we listened to talks about eCommerce by Alexander Savkovic from Enartia and Headless WordPress by Stanimir Stoyanov from SiteGround. Bozhidar Valchovski from DevriX told us some techniques on how to maximize our profits as publishers. Just before the lunch break, Martin Popov from Interactive Share shared how to build a successful Content Strategy.
In the afternoon we also listened to many interesting talks. Firstly, Diana Edreva gave tips on how to make our website faster. After that, Petar Teodosiev from BG Nauka (Science) showed us how to create a podcast accessible through all WordPress applications. Finally, in the last part of WordCamp Sofia 2019, Daniel Ivanov gave us tips on how to make plugins. Diana Koshedzhiyska showed us how to automate some processes with clients. And during the last talk, Stefan Sovrlic showed how we can improve our campaigns by optimizing the post-click experience. Of course, after all of the talks, there was a nice party to continue networking over a beer.
At the event, we had the opportunity to see and talk with the representatives of 9 sponsoring companies. Each of them had very engaging activities at their booths. Furthermore, they gave some very cool SWAG to the attendees. Those companies were Jump.BG, SuperHosting.BG, DevriX, SiteGround, ICN.Bg, ZETTAHOST.bg, ICDSOFT, Weglot, and Fixed.Net.
Moreover, there were hundreds of WordPress related people, to share experience, knowledge, and ideas with. Among them were also Famous names in the Bulgarian WordPress community and guests from abroad.
WordCamp Sofia is a wonderful event. As always, the best place to gather professionals, power users, and in general people from the WordPress Community.
Mario Peshev, CEO of DevriX and a leading WordPress influencer
This year I joined WordCamp Sofia 2019 as an organizer. It was an unforgettable experience for me full of a lot of positive emotions. In my plan after the event is over now is to prepare some articles related to the organization. Because I want to share my experience and knowledge about it. To describe more about the process of it, and build a guide based on my experience. So hopefully, more people can easily join the organization of future WordCamps. Definitely, when you see how much people appreciate the hard work and efforts that all organizers put in this year, it feels great. I’m also extremely happy with how much the local WordPress Community has evolved and continues to grow in recent years.
WordCamp Sofia is over, but the show goes on. Many more cool WordPress activities await us. First of all, is the WordPress Sofia Meetup on November 12th. About 80 people will gather and we will talk about “How to find a job and clients in the WordPress ecosystem”. Speakers will be Niki Krastev, Milen Petrinski, and me – Dian Tankov. After that, on November 19 is WordPress Meetup Sofia. There, Petar Nikolov will talk about WordPress website optimization. So, I hope to see you soon at one of those events!
And more …
Great activities await us, which I advise you not to miss. In the meantime, stay tuned for more interesting events, WordPress news, guides, tips, and other videos and articles on my website.
